Will Honey Boo Boo Be President?

The recent Republican Convention was not watched by as many people as the television show, Honey Boo Boo. I guess this means that Honey Boo Boo would garner more votes than Romney if she gets her name on the ballot. I find this humorous since I am running for President, and neither party seems to be taking me seriously. I am not even being protected by secret service agents. When you don't take a dog's run seriously, you end up with stupid humans running things! Sadly, Honey Boo Boo is another human and I doubt that she will do a better job than the other humans running. Perhaps if Honey Boo Boo were a bear, there would be hope. However, if this dog votes for a bear, my vote would go to Yogi Bear. After all, he is smarter than the average bear!

Why No Huckleberry Hound Movie?

Since Hollywood loves to remake television shows and movies, this dog is wondering why there is no movie remake of Huckleberry Hound. He was a blue dog who appeared in cartoons in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Yogi got his own movie so you would think that Huckleberry Hound would get the same kind of respect from Hollywood. I liked the Yogi Bear movie. However, humans like dogs more than bears so I think Huckleberry would do equally well at the theatre. He was also a better singer than Yogi Bear. He used to sing Oh My Darling Clementine frequently, but I would not make it a musical because I just don't think Huckleberry Hound would be good as a musical.

I hope that all the people and dogs who were in the path of Hurricane Irene are okay. I think they should rename all hurricanes after birds. They really don't have to change the names, but just put bird in front of it. For example, Irene would be Bird Irene. I suspect that birds probably cause hurricanes just like they cause earthquakes. (I wrote a blog about that a few days ago.) Anyway, I also hope those who have lost electrical power get it returned. How are they supposed to read my blog if there is no power? (Again, the birds do not want the humans reading my blog and warning them about bird treachery.) I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I'll write more tomorrow.

Dog Yoga or How To Steal a Pic-A-Nic Basket!

Today I am going to share a video with my readers from youtube.com. The address is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roQMb2Guy6k This video shows dogs in Chicago doing yoga or "doga" as it is called when it is done by dogs. Yoga is something some of the humans enjoy doing. I might add that Angel Zoom Smokey and myself have never done yoga so I do not speak from personal experience. It is supposed to be good for you, but I watched this video and I was not impressed. I thought yoga was supposed to be taught by a Yogi, but if you watch the video, you will see that Yogi Bear is no where in sight. I wouldn't mind learning yoga from Yogi Bear. I have to assume that Yogi Bear teaches his tricks for getting the pic-a-nic baskets from the humans. All dogs can find that information useful so doga is a good thing. However, the video shows humans teaching the course, and they don't know how to steal a pic-a-nic basket. They just have the dogs in stupid poses to make them look silly. If the humans want to look silly, that is their business, but leave a dog out of it. We dogs have standards and don't like to look stupid. I wonder where I can sign up for the doga course with Yogi Bear. I could use a tasty pic-a-nic basket about now.

Best Picture Next Year: Bird Apocalypse Now!

The Oscar nominees have been announced, and the movies that are up for best picture for 2010 are:
1. The Fighter (Excellent Movie)
2. Inception (Excellent Movie)
3. The Social Network, (Excellent Movie)
4. Toy Story 3 (Excellent Movie)
5. True Grit (Excellent Movie)
6. 127 Hours (Not seen, and didn't want to see)
7. Black Swan (Not seen, didn't look interesting)
8. The King's Speech (Didn't see, but looks like it might be good)
9. Winter's Bone (Didn't see, and didn't want to see)
10 The Kid are Alright (Saw it--Not a Particularly Good Movie)

I know everyone has their own opinions, but these are mine. Actually, I don't really have a lot of respect for the Oscars because, in the past, some of the movies that win, I have considered to be mediocre. The fact that Marmaduke and Yogi Bear are not in the running for best picture for 2010 is ridiculous. I liked both of those movies more than Toy Story 3, and I liked Toy Story 3.

In entertainment news, Conan O'Brien's production company has done a pilot for a new television show called, Vince Uncensored. CBS has picked it up so I'm guessing it will be airing before too long.

The best news I read today is that the USDA has poisoned hundreds of birds (starlings) in South Dakota. I am hoping that this is finally an official declaration of war on birds. Maybe the humans are finally listening to a dog!

Words of Wisdom From Yogi Who is Smarter than the Average Bear

The humans went to see the 3D version of Yogi Bear yesterday. Yogi is a talking bear who lives in Jellystone Park, and he is smarter than the average bear. The mayor of the city near Jellystone has run the city government into bankruptcy, and Jellystone Park is being threatened by loggers. Meanwhile a documentary film director is filming Yogi and Boo Boo because, evidently, talking bears are a rare commodity. The humans said the movie will keep you on the edge of your seats wondering if Jellystone will survive or not. Yogi, who happens to be a bear genius, devises so many clever ways to steal pic-a-nic baskets that Yogi should get a Nobel prize for pic-a-nic basket theft. In fact, Yogi should get a nomination for an Oscar as best actor. Few bears can act as well as Yogi. Boo Boo should get the nod as a supporting actor. Yogi is not only highly intelligent, but he also possesses excellent taste. He points out that one of the things he knows in life is that real mayonnaise tastes better than low fat mayonnaise. Truer words have never been spoken--by human or bear. Jeff was teasing Mommy about how she laughed over that line, and Mommy said that you seldom see bears who make mayonnaise comparisons, and Jeff said you seldom hear bears make comments on anything because most bears don't talk. Jeff should realize that Yogi is not just any ordinary bear. He has been talking for years! This is why he is smarter than the average bear!
