After the Michigan ComicCon Saturday, I went to the theatre to see Dark Shadows. Johnny Depp stars as Barnabus Collins in a movie version of a television show from the 70's. Barnabus Collins, a rich and influential man from the 1700's, was turned into a vampire when he did not return the love of a woman who turned out to be a witch. He was chained and buried, and was accidentally dug up in 1972. He returns to his ancestral home (Collinwood) to find the modern day Collins family, and all their problems. The witch who loved him is still around and still wants him to love her, but he loves another. The movie has many funny moments, and it is enjoyable, but I suspect it would have been better had they stuck more to the original Dark Shadows concept. This is why I give it 4 paws up which is about a 7 out of 10 on the human movie scale. It is still very entertaining, and Johnny Depp, as usual, does a great job. I recommend this movie because it is a good way to spend an afternoon or evening.

I Did Not Attend the Comic Con Because it was Stupid
My human brother, Jeff, and I went to the ComicCon in Novi, Michigan yesterday, and I was not allowed in because I'm a Dog! I was wearing my red Superdog cape, and I looked quite handsome if I do say so myself. I even winked at the admission ticket humans with my gorgeous blue eyes. Imagine my anger when they would not allow me to enter the event. We huskies are a stubborn breed so I didn't give up easily. I tried several times to make my way into the event. I told them I was Dylan Dog, but they didn't believe me. They told me Dylan Dog was not a dog. I told them I was one of the huskies from Marmaduke and I was told that Marmaduke was a dog who would not be allowed to enter either. I even bandaged my paws, and rode in a wheelchair hoping for the "sympathy" entrance, but that didn't work either. What a bunch of stupid human jerks!!! They allowed humans dressed as Storm Troopers and Artoodetoo into the ComicCon. I guess space aliens and robots are okay, but dogs are not. Who makes up these stupid rules anyway? When a world famous blogger like myself isn't allowed to enter, I'm surprised they have any celebrities that people want to see. Don't they realize that they could make a fortune getting 10% of the money I get for my pawtographs? It is their loss. I decided to head for Burger King to get a couple of burgers. Bacon on the burgers will help soothe my hurt feelings. I wouldn't be surprised if the humans running the ComicCon refused to allow bacon to be served. This is what happens when stupid humans are put in charge of things.

ComicCon: Dogs Should Be Allowed to Attend
My human brother, Jeff is not here with me today. He is at the ComicCon in Novi, Michigan. He goes there every year. They have celebrities there to sign autographs. This dog has to announce that I am not impressed with the celebrities that come to the convention. The dogs from Snow Dogs and Eight Below have never made an appearance to give their pawtographs nor have the dogs from Air Bud, Air Buddies, or any of the other movie dogs that this dog would like to meet. Adam West will be there. Do the people running that convention really think television's Batman or mayor from Family Guy is better than a celebrity dog? If I was going to book a character from Family Guy, I would have booked Brian or if I was going for a human, that Stewie character. Do you know how hard it is for a baby to play that role? Most babies aren't able to do much of anything so Stewie's character is truly gifted.
I hate to report this fact, but dogs aren't allowed at the ComicCon. Yes, you read correctly--dogs are not allowed (unless of course, they are service dogs). I suppose this is why they don't book celebrity dogs--they are biased against dogs. They let all sorts of weird looking characters into the convention. Mommy says she has seen Storm Troopers and even Darth Vader, but dogs aren't allowed! If you ask me, the people running it must be insane. Who would want to let someone as evil as Darth Vader enter and refuse entry to a super cute dog? Maybe he is using that mind power Jedi trick on them or maybe they are afraid of him, but it is wrong--just plain wrong. One day, I am going to have a DogCon, and I'm not going to let the humans enter unless they are service humans. That will teach the humans to be prejudiced against us dogs.
