Since I am a dog, I always enjoy sharing the latest "food" news with my readers. Today I am able to report that the Red Robin restaurants will be offering a beer milkshake for Oktoberfest. The tradition of Oktoberfest started in Bavaria (Germany) many years ago. There is some official history that Oktoberfest celebrated the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig who married Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen on Oct. 12, 1810. Of course, you came to my blog to find the real truth. It is actually the the "birthday" of the invention of beer. I don't personally like beer, and my humans aren't fond of it, but many of the humans like it. Some of them probably like it a bit too much so it is only natural that the humans would want to celebrate its "birth" by drinking a lot of it. Even a restaurant chain like Red Robin is getting in on the celebration. I don't think this dog would order the beer, but Red Robin's Oktoberfest burger is something in which I could sink my teeth. It is beef on a toasted pretzel bun, and topped with black forest ham. Yes, that is something a dog would enjoy and a vanilla milkshake would go great with it. I do love milkshakes, but I don't think I would like them flavored with beer.

Just Say No to Baths!
Once again, it is time to share my words of wisdom with my readers. Today those words of wisdom are of utmost importance. When you go outside when it is raining or snowing, you will get wet. Sure, you can wear a raincoat or you can carry an umbrella, but if you don't do either of those things, you will get wet. I don't happen to mind getting wet due to those conditions, but the bath in the house is a totally different thing. A dog should never get wet from taking a bath. Baths are unnatural for dogs, and I suspect they lead to cleanliness and smelling like flowers. YUCK!!! When I go outside and meet other dogs, I want them to know I'm a dog, and not wonder if I'm a rose or a lilac. Having a wet human touch you is not acceptable either. My humans take showers, and then they think it is perfectly okay to pet the dog. I don't appreciate them getting me wet. The water from the inside is evil, hateful water that can hurt a dog. Water that comes down naturally outside is nice, clean water. The next time you are sitting around the house and the humans decide it is time for you to have a bath, remember these words: Just Say No to Baths. This concludes my doggy public service message for today!

Television Program About Dogs!
I have something exciting to share with my readers today....it is a new television program centered around dogs. It is about time someone made a dog-centric television show. It isn't as good as a program starring Demon Flash Bandit would be (I've heard he is one talented dog). However, it is far better than anything the humans can come up with. Don't get me wrong...the humans are easy to entertain. I think this can be proven by watching one of the reality shows for about 3 minutes. Humans can be entertained by looking at a flea sitting around doing nothing....like a dog would sit and watch the flea show. In fact, I have even heard the humans talk about going to a flea market to buy stuff. I can guarantee you that there is nothing a flea can sell that a dog would buy! However, I am not discussing how stupid the human's shopping habits are--I'm discussing how easy it is to entertain them. They even have fishing shows. Fishing--the "sport" where you sit in a boat (or on shore) and be quiet. I fail to see how anyone would want to watch something that boring, but the humans tune in to get pointers on how to improve their "fishing". Personally, I know the best way to fish, and I bring home a big catch everytime. It is the seafood section of the supermarket. I even get to choose what kind of fish I want to eat. I have never had to invest money in fishing equipment and/or a boat. I don't know too many fishermen who can say that. The link to the wonderful new dog program is:http://on.aol.com/studio/fetching/videoid=517390796?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmaing11%7Cdl22%7Csec3_lnk1%26pLid%3D170763

Demon Flash Bandit: Dog Needs Toilet Tank Aquarium!
In my last blog, I mentioned a cool product I found on the Internet that is a toilet tank and an aquarium all in one. I think this is not only a cool product, but a product that a dog would find very entertaining. As I predicted, when I told Mommy I wanted her to order one and have it installed (and I didn't insist she put it in both bathrooms even though that would be a great idea), she told me that the ones in those bathrooms are working just fine, and she sees no need to spend money to replace things that work okay. At least she did agree that it would be cool to have one which makes her a lot more intelligent than some of the other humans--one of which called it (and I quote) "silly". I would order it myself, but it seems that a dog does not get paid for writing a blog (yeah, it seems crazy to me too--I've read some of the blogs written by humans and they aren't even interesting). Anyway, I had one of those moments when a lightbulb goes off over my head. It didn't hurt that I was sitting under a light fixture when it happened, but I knew that I had solved my problem of getting the fish tank toilet. All I have to do is ask my readers to send me money. Here is the address:

I'm sure that will be enough for the post office to get the money to me. I'm sure all the humans know who I am, and are probably jealous of my many, many postings which are always better than anything they could write. I am sure that, with all the money coming in, I'll be able to put aquarium toilet tanks in both bathrooms. Mommy said that there are more important things to give money to--like people who are starving and homeless, but I say that if you give a dog a fish toilet, he will be entertained for at least a week. I think that makes donating to my cause far more important than all the other causes out there. Remember, I need to watch fish when I'm laying on the bathroom floor, which happens to be one of the cooler spots in the house in which to lay. Being a husky, I always check to find the coolest spots!

Dog Artist!
I'm sure many of my readers have contemplated buying some art work to make their homes more beautiful. There are many art subjects, but I have to admit that, in my opinion, the best painting you can add to an art collection is one of a dog. I'm not just saying that because I'm a dog myself, but because seeing a dog hanging on the wall in a painting makes everyone feel good-except maybe the family cat, and who cares what the cat thinks anyway? Whether the dog is sleeping, walking, running, eating, or sitting, the painting will make anyone who looks at it feel happier just for having viewed it. Of course, I have shared some of my own art work on my blog in the past so the next best thing to having art whose subject is a dog is to have art work that is painted by a dog. I want to share a website with my readers where they can purchase dog art. Be sure and tell the site that Demon Flash Bandit sent you. I always love it when my readers do that even though the site has no idea who I am. That is why I think it is funny. Here is the address:

Dog At the Door?
For those of my readers of the dog persuasion (yes, I'm sure there are some humans reading this too), I'm sure you have been in a position where you are outside and wish to come in. Since I know how to open the door, this is a simple task for me, but not all dogs know how to open the door and I can only open it from one side. I can't pull it, but I can push it open after I turn the knob. How do you let the humans know you are ready to come inside again? Do you scratch at the door, bark, cry, or perhaps jump up and down at a window? There is an easier way-with a pet doorbell, the key on your collar will activate a doggy doorbell to let your humans know that you want to rejoin them inside. As long as you have humans who know how to operate the door (all of us dogs know that some of them aren't that smart), you can be allowed in without having to go to so much trouble. Here is more information about the product.

Today I have some exciting news for my readers. This photo above is a t-shirt that I am giving away to one of my lucky blog readers. I know how exciting this is for my readers--to have a chance to show that you know the famous blogger, Demon Flash Bandit by wearing my face on a shirt! Since I enjoy making my readers smile, this is what you can do in order to enter for a chance to win this wonderful t-shirt. Whenever you post a comment on this blog, you are automatically entered to win the shirt. Since I also write a diary on www.dogster.com and some of my readers also read my diary entries, those who want to post an entry on dogster can pawmail me their name and it will also be an entry. One lucky person will win the t-shirt on April 15 which gives everyone a month to enter. By the way, for those living in the United States, this is also something that might make income tax time a bit more enjoyable. This contest is open to citizens of the United States and Canada. Now for the boring details about the shirt. It is a men's XLarge. It is white, and it is Anvil brand. It says Demon Flash Bandit, Dog Blogger on it. I am speaking from a totally unbiased viewpoint, but I happen to think that this is the most exciting contest on the Internet.
Now it is time to talk about my blog topic for the day. The big sled dog race in Alaska, Iditarod has just occurred, and because I am a "sled dog", I find this race very exciting. I have never pulled a sled or taken part in such a contest, but a dog can dream. Today I was napping and I dreamed that I was running in the big Iditarod race. I took about 10 steps, my paws got cold, I decided I wanted to get a bite to eat so I jumped in the nearest car and drove to McDonalds where I ordered some burgers. Yes, it was a good dream. I have decided that racing in snow is not fun thanks to that dream. Besides a dog can get his paws dirty doing things like that.

Hank the Cat Attack Ad from Canines!
Hank the Cat from Virginia who is running for the Senate seat now has a negative ad with a lot of good questions about his qualifications for the office. It was paid for by a Pac group. The Pac group was Canines for a Feline Free Tomorrow. Obviously, this group of dogs, as usual, is watching out for the humans. All us dogs know that cats are notoriously uncaring about their humans. The average cat does not even act excited when their human comes home after being gone. Dogs tend to let the humans know how much we love and miss them which is why we are man's best friend. Cats have never been called men's best friend. I am going to share the ad with my readers because it brings up things that Hank needs to address. Is Hank really the best choice for a Senate seat? Decide for yourself. Here is the address:

We Don't Need Any Chicken Robots
My humans were watching a television show called Robot Chicken, and this show is a major concern for me. As my regular readers are aware, I am not a fan of birds, and a chicken is a bird. In fact, it is a intellectually challenged bird because it can't fly. This makes them easier for a dog to catch so it is actually a good thing for a dog who is in the mood for barbequed or fried chicken. However, this robot chicken concerns me. I don't see the need for a chicken robot, and robots do not make good eating so what is the point of making a chicken robot? I think there is a better use for robotics--like robot sled dogs so huskies like myself can nap and have snacks instead of pulling a sled. Some of you might say that the humans could just use one of those snow vehicles, but those snow vehicles do not have cute tails to watch as you are riding along. It is like the caboose on a train--the humans always used to wait to see the caboose. It was the best part of the train--partly because the caboose meant that they didn't have to wait any longer for the train to quit blocking the roadway. Anyway, the Robot Chicken program is funny, but this dog would prefer it wasn't a chicken or anything in the bird family. I really don't like birds!
