Since I am a dog, I always enjoy sharing the latest "food" news with my readers. Today I am able to report that the Red Robin restaurants will be offering a beer milkshake for Oktoberfest. The tradition of Oktoberfest started in Bavaria (Germany) many years ago. There is some official history that Oktoberfest celebrated the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig who married Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen on Oct. 12, 1810. Of course, you came to my blog to find the real truth. It is actually the the "birthday" of the invention of beer. I don't personally like beer, and my humans aren't fond of it, but many of the humans like it. Some of them probably like it a bit too much so it is only natural that the humans would want to celebrate its "birth" by drinking a lot of it. Even a restaurant chain like Red Robin is getting in on the celebration. I don't think this dog would order the beer, but Red Robin's Oktoberfest burger is something in which I could sink my teeth. It is beef on a toasted pretzel bun, and topped with black forest ham. Yes, that is something a dog would enjoy and a vanilla milkshake would go great with it. I do love milkshakes, but I don't think I would like them flavored with beer.

Angus Burgers at Subway: Delicious!!!!!
Since I was a puppy, I have loved the burgers from Burger King. I think that realm which is ruled by King Burger must be a magical land filled with delicious foods. It is difficult for my humans to even get me to try another burger--until yesterday. Mommy came home with an Angus burger from Subway, and I actually asked for a bite because it smelled so good. I must let my readers know that it tasted as good as it smelled. Finally, I have found another burger that I will eat. For those of you who have not tried it, I would suggest you get one as soon as possible. I am not being paid by Subway for writing this, but I am doing it because a burger that good deserves my praise. I only wish that Mommy had given me her entire burger. She did share, but I would have liked to have eaten the entire sandwich. If you should decide to try one, be sure and ask to have it toasted because I doubt if it would taste as good cold. I even ate the cheese that was on the burger from Subway. Mommy has to order Burger King burgers for me without cheese because I don't like the cheese they use there. I am picky about cheese, and the cheese Burger King uses does not meet my standards!
I might add that Subway has tasty cookies too, but they do not serve the delicious milkshakes that Burger King serves so perhaps the humans running Subway might check into adding them to the menu. One nice thing about Subway is that you can add bacon, and bacon is also very delicious. I have yet to meet a dog who does not like bacon.
I hope that all my readers are getting tasty items to eat.

Dogs on Strike!
Since my last post yesterday, I have been a busy dog. What have I been doing, you may ask? I have been making protest signs. I am tired of being left out on trips to the store, theatre, and other fun outings. I decided to start making protest signs so that other dogs and myself can carry them around outside places that don't allow us into their establishments. It is about time us dogs start picketing these places and let our barks and howls be heard. The next step is for us to go on strike. Let's see how the humans like it when we lay around all day and sleep instead of working. The watch dogs aren't going to bark at strangers. The hunting dogs are going to refuse to hunt. Personally, I will not be doing any mushing. I'm not sure how well this is going to work since, as in my case, I never mush anywhere anyway, but if the humans need me to take them anywhere, they are out of luck and they will have to live with that knowledge. I will continue to eat Burger King because I have no problems with Mr. King Burger who runs the place. You know he has to like dogs or he would not make such delicious burgers for us. The milkshakes there are quite tasty too.
We dogs are tired of having the silly humans tell us what to do. Let's hold a treat up above their heads and tell them to sit or beg. See how they like having to entertain us dogs for their treats. We will then tell the other dogs around us what smart humans they are for doing tricks like that. Yes, this dog is annoyed, and I am not going to sit back and take it anymore. If the humans want to avoid these problems, I suggest they start letting us dogs go with them everywhere they go. Believe me, a lot of us dogs are better behaved and easier to deal with than a lot of humans.

Visit My Blog for a Chance to Win a DVD--White Fang

Today I have a big announcement for my readers. I will be giving away a a DVD with 9 episodes of the television series, White Fang. This is the story of a boy and his wolf dog, and it takes place in the Rockies. Move over Lassie because this dog is just as helpful as Lassie, but he reminds me of looking at myself in a mirror, and I like to look at myself in a mirror. That dog in the mirror is always mimicking me so it is good that I realized that I can't blame other dogs for being like me--I am a doggy role model. This DVD comes with a music CD of classical "nature" type music which I am hoping does not involve birds. As my loyal readers are already aware, I am not a fan of birds. For those who want to know how to enter and any rules involved in my contest, here they are:
All you have to do to win this prize is come to my blog and post a comment on any blog written between July 19 and July 31. One entry per day is allowed. The contest will last until July 31, I will announce the winner in my blog in early August, and the person can send me their email address to arrange shipment, which of course will be free. This contest is open to people in the United States and Canada. I am posting a photo of the DVD on my blog so you can see what you are entering to win. This is my way of saying thank you for visiting my blog and reading the wisdom of Demon Flash Bandit, professional dog.
Now you know what my blog topic for today is about: being a professional dog. We all know that there are regular ball players who play the game because it is fun, but you have the pros who play the game to make money and it is their profession. I happen to be talented at being a dog, and I'm a real pro at it. Being a dog is a lot harder than it sounds. You have to learn when to bark, whine, give the sad, puppy dog face to get treats, and some dogs even have to do tricks to get treats. That doesn't work around here. Mommy was teaching Angel Zoom Smokey to "shake" and Angel will shake, but she keeps looking around and she told me she is getting tired of looking for milkshakes that never appear. Did I mention that both Angel Zoom Smokey and myself like ice cream?
I am so good at being a dog that I plan to start a school for other dogs training them to be a more professional dog. Some dogs are really getting the short end of the stick, but they are so excited about getting a stick that they let the humans take over. We dogs are the ones in charge, and some dogs forget that. This is why I am starting my school for dogs. I will teach them that they are really in charge and show them how to get the humans to do things their way. I plan to call it the Demon Flash Bandit School For Sophisticated Dogs.
